Call me crazy, but I love school. I love learning new things and challenging myself, and school is a great place for that. It also doesn’t hurt that I love office supplies, and school is the perfect excuse to buy cute planners, pens, and notebooks.
Believe you me, I have taken full advantage of having a reason to shop for cute things. This planner from Ban.do has been my favorite purchase so far—I am not ashamed to say that 95% of the reason I bought it is the stickers.
Last year, I finally decided what I want to be when I want to grow up and applied to a Master of Professional Communication program—and I got in! If all goes as planned, I will have my degree in a year and a half.
I was super nervous on the first day, but being there just felt right. One of the great things about the program is that students can tailor it to their career goals, and I have decided to specialize in marketing/branding. Over the years, I have discovered that I am a creative soul and happiest when I am making things and coming up with ideas—marketing is a great way to incorporate what I love into how I make a living.
The program is designed for people who work full time, so the classes are online/evening hybrids. On the plus side, since I am working full time, I won’t graduate with student loan debt. On the other hand, I am going to grad school and working full time, and that’s a lot of stuff.
Luckily, Remi has been helping me with homework:
It also means that I have three hours of driving time on the one day a week I have to be on campus. I normally hate driving—I am too antsy to sit for long periods of time, especially in cramped quarters—but I am embracing it. I signed up for Audible and have enjoyed listening to audiobooks these past few weeks.
I have never been much of an audiobook person, and I still prefer reading to listening, but it’s a great way to pass the time. That means I need some great audiobook suggestions! What have been some of your favorites with good narrators?
